Ashford Castle, the ancestral home of the Guinness family, is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The Castle's magnificent surroundings, elegant interiors, and delectable cuisine contribute to bringing this area of Ireland to life in the most fascinating way.
From extraordinary estate experiences to the finest Ashford Castle linens and the Castle's bespoke Single Malt whiskey, reflects the Castle's grandeur and heritage. Ashford Castle's lands are of epic dimension, set on a sprawling 350-acre estate on the banks of Lough Corrib; environmentally friendly and wild Irish woodland, serene lakeside views, and the crowning glory, a magnificent turreted castle dating back approximately 800 years.
Inside, the service is as warm and inviting as the crackling open fires in this luxury country estate. The former home of the Guinness family, skillfully blended with glamorous pampering and traditional Irish hospitality, is managed by a group of outstanding staff. Whether it's outfitting you with a wax jacket and boots for a hawk walk or orchestrating a wine-tasting experience in the cellar, no request is too big, no detail is too short, and discretion is always paramount.
The 83 individually designed rooms and suites at the hotel possess regal grandeur. Original art and antique furniture, fireplaces, chandeliers, and period furniture are among the features. Many of the rooms have views of Lough Corrib, where fishing trips can be arranged with a local guide (ghillie).
On land, there's plenty to keep you entertained, from the scenic nine-hole golf course to zip-lining explorations through the woods to traditional country pursuits like horseback riding, falconry, and clay pigeon shooting. Ashford Castle has 83 rooms, including 77 individually designed guest rooms, five lavish suites, and a private Hideaway Farmhouse.
All suites have spectacular views of the River Cong or Lough Corrib. The Reagan Presidential Suite is named after the former president, who visited Ashford Castle in 1984. The luxurious apartment, situated in the castle's oldest wing, features an original fireplace, elegant George III-style four-poster bed, original portraits, and fabulous floor-to-ceiling outlooks of Lough Corrib.
The Deluxe Queen Family Rooms feature two queen-size beds as well as a spacious bathroom. The bathrooms are lavishly proportioned and feature Connemara marble, organic Voya products, and clawfoot tubs. The romantic and isolated Hideaway Cottage is a common choice for honeymoon couples or those looking for extra privacy.
The lovingly restored former boathouse is just moments from the castle and features gated access, 24-hour concierge service and room service, private gardens, lake outlooks, and pleasant wax jackets and Wellington boots to take home as an unforgettable souvenir.
