The Lutetia finds its home in the very heart of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, one of Paris' most iconic and emblematic neighborhoods. Originally built to house the merchants and clients of the nearby Le Bon Marché, the Lutetia has since become a destination on its own merits, particularly for true Parisiennes. Now one of the pre-eminent hotels in the city, the Lutetia partly owes its magnificence to its home – the Left Bank.
One of the leading design hotels in Paris, the Lutetia has been carefully restored and modernized by Jean-Michel Wilmotte. The interior design of the hotel was a complex and exciting challenge: to restore the legendary decor that bridged both the Art Nouveau and Art Deco movements and bring it into the 21st century. The architect revived what had become hidden and reinvented what no longer existed. Master craftspeople from across the world were brought in to assist in the restoration of the paintings, stained glass, frescoes, mosaics, sculptures, and more.
