Opened in 2011, Mandarin Oriental, Paris was the brand's first hotel in France and one of the few in Europe. The building itself has a rich history, dating back to the 16th century, and has previously served as a monastery, theater, and royal riding school. This deep historical significance plays a part in its prestigious status as one of the select few Parisian hotels awarded the “Palace” distinction by Atout France, the French Tourism Development Agency.

Situated on rue Saint-Honoré, one of Paris's oldest streets, the hotel is surrounded by 17th- and 18th-century mansions and some of the most famous names in jewelry, fashion, and art. Just a short walk from landmarks like the Louvre, Tuileries Gardens, Musée d'Orsay, Palais-Royal, and Place Vendôme, it offers an ideal location in the heart of Paris, close to many of the city’s most iconic attractions.
