Designed by architect Kazukiyo Sato, the Peninsula Tokyo stands as a freestanding structure—a rarity in the city. The 24-story building is envisioned as a traditional Japanese lantern, marking the entrance to the Marunouchi and Ginza neighborhoods. With lighting by Tino Kwan, the hotel’s soft nighttime glow brings this lantern concept to life. Inside, Japanese influences abound, from a kaiseki restaurant and locally crafted art to an outstanding ESPA spa offering a variety of Asian-inspired treatments.
Located opposite the Imperial Palace and Hibiya Park in Marunouchi’s financial district, the hotel boasts direct access to the Hibiya subway for easy travel. Ginza, Tokyo's premier shopping destination, is just a three-minute walk away, but for added comfort, guests can also enjoy a ride in one of the hotel’s elegant house cars, such as a customized Rolls-Royce Extended Wheel Phantom or a Tesla Model S.
